Bonsai Care Yellow Leaves

Growing Bonsai From Seed – 10 points?
I want to grow a bonsai tree from a seed. Im going to train a tree to become a bonsai. This is going to sound weird, but i want the leaves to be the colour of either red or yellow. I was going to grow a amur maple seed and make it into a bonsai tree, but it takes 2 years. I want one that will grow very fast.
So to sum it up does any one know of any tree that is a fast grower, has red or yellow leaves and is relatively easy to take care of?
Okay- first thing you need to consider is – are you going to be treating this as a houseplant? (inside all year?) If so, you need to choose a tree that is a tropical, and will survive indoors all year.
If you select a maple, that tree will need the dormancy of winter, and does best outside. It will need special protection of the roots in the winter. If you go that way, we can advise you how to do that. But you can’t keep a maple tree in your house year round. It won’t get enough direct sun, and it won’t survive without the change of seasons. You don’t see maple trees growing in south Florida.
If you want a tree that turns color in the fall (yellow or red), then you are talking about a deciduous tree, and most likely, one that needs winter. Any of the maples will fit the bill. Or if you want one that has some red-ish color even during the summer, you might look into any of the red-leaves Japanese maples…like Crimson Queen or Bloodgood.
